MARKING OF STEEL GRADE S500S OR B500C
Marking of ribbed steel is carried out by the different positioning of the ribs on the surface of the bar.
In order to mark steel of grade S500s or B500C, HALYVOURGIKI, implements the marking described in the Standards ELOT 1421-3. Based on this standard the bars carry on their surface two rows of transverse ribs with alternating angles of obliqueness against the axis of the bar.
One side of the bar carries the thicker transverse ribs with a pattern as shown in the figure below, which indicate the country and works of origin as specified in the European and International Standards. Two thicker transverse ribs indicate the beginning of the marking. Eight regular transverse ribs follow, succeeded by one thick rib, which indicates the country of production, i.e. Greece . The procedure continues, in order to mark the specific pattern used by each production works, as follows: one regular transverse rib is followed by one thicker rib, two regular ones, ending with a thicker rib. These symbolise the number 12, which represents HALYVOURGIKI.
In order to easily distinguish between the two types of product , manufactured by HALYVOURGIKI and in order for them to be readily recognisable , the side of the parallel transverse rib carries
