SURFACE-RIBS GEOMETRY
Steel of grade S500s or B500C produced by HALYVOURGIKI, has two rows of transverse ribs, which are uniformly distributed on the circumference of the product and are spaced at equal intervals from each other along the product. Bonding of steel with concrete is achieved via the ribs. The presence of longitudinal ribs is optional.
The transverse ribs resemble the shape of a crescent and they smoothly merge into the core of the product. The projection of the transverse ribs extends at least 75% over the circumference of the product, which is calculated from the nominal diameter (see fig.1).
The transverse rib flank inclination (á) is greater or equal to 45° and radiused at the transition to the core of the product. (See fig.2).
The angles of pitch "â" of the transverse ribs range from 35° to 75° (See fig.3).
The height of the transverse ribs (h) is 0,03d – 0,15d. The rib spacing is 0,4d to 1,2d and the rib width is 0,1d. The height of the longitudinal ribs does not exceed 0,15d.
