Packing types - methods
Concrete reinforcement steel is delivered in the following form:
- Straight bars, in bundles weighing approx. 2 tons, 12 or 14m long and a tolerance of -0/+100mm.
- Coils weighing 1500 to 3000 kg.
Each bundle or coil has a securely attached label with the following data:
- Country and works of origin
- Grade of steel
- Month and year of production
- Heat number
- Description of the product form and the nominal diameter
- Marking
| Binding of steel for the reinforcement of concrete in straight bars or in coils is a packing procedure and the sole purpose is to maintain the bars in place within the bundle or the coil. The bundles or coils must not be lifted from these points. |
